The Association of Grace Baptist
Churches (East Anglia) Ltd
For 180 years our present Association has stood true to the doctrines as set out in the Articles of Faith. There are currently 30 member Churches, each one witnessing to the truths of the gospel of God's grace.
Our Association of Churches originally developed out of the Suffolk and Norfolk Association of Baptist Churches, which had existed since 1771. The formation of the 'second' Association took place at Grundisbugh in September 1829 and a letter sent from the first meeting emphasised the renewed desire: "... to preserve in an Association of Baptist Churches in this County, the doctrine of The Cross, uncorrupted by a system which can rest on no basis but that of General Redemption and Universal Salvation".

In 1829, the original Association was composed of 24 Churches and although it took time to establish a settled membership, the new Association (Suffolk & Norfolk Association of Strict Baptist Churches), knew much blessing and within 7 years the membership stood at 1700.
In 1986 the name of the Association became 'Association of Grace Baptist Churches (East Anglia), bringing uniformity with our sister Associations in the South East and East Midlands, as well as our Grace Baptist Mission and the 'demominational' periodical, Grace Magazine, seeing also the introduction of Grace Hymns soon after.
